Grand Canyon Perspective

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Stephanie Powell

My husband and I were hiking down South Kaibab Trail in Grand Canyon National Park, and I turned around to view our progress. In awe of the landscape, I knelt down to take a some pictures. When I started shooting a woman came around the corner into the frame. I kept shooting, loving how the extra human element added scale to the image. I don't know who this woman is, but I thank her for helping me make one of my favorite photographs of the Grand Canyon.
