Raccoon of the Mangroves

Category: Outdoor Scenes

Photo and caption by ALDEN DY

On my recent trip to the Bahamas last February 2013, i saw this raccoon coming out of the mangrove trees. This lone mammal was not mindful of my presence as i took a photo while it was busy digging its paws in the mud in search of food. I was able to capture at the same time the beautiful circular rippling effect on the water as created by the raccoon's busy paws while leaving a discarded soda can nearby untouched.

Location: Grand Lucayan National Park, The Bahamas
