Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Roland Diaresco

We become more present with the beauty around us, as we rediscover the beauty within us. By centering, we learn to nurture our mind, body and spirit. I quit my job as an executive in a global company to take a sabbatical, explore the world and volunteer with children in need. Angkor Wat is perhaps the most photographed place but many travelers tend to miss this spot. I carry this photograph as I travel across 5 continents. Looking at this image draws me meditatively the core. It is a reminder to find time to find ourselves, and to live with a purpose bigger than ourselves

Location: Angkor Wat, Cambodia
