The Coming Storm
Category: Spontaneous Moments

My wife and I were hurrying back to our hotel (or at least to find a bistro) in Paris hoping to avoid a brewing rainstorm when I spotted the statue of Cain in the Tuileries Garden lit by the fleeing sun. I have always loved this image for the fact that the statue, still in light, covers his face, seemingly in anticipation of the brewing storm. It hangs in my house and reminds us to be in the moment and appreciate the sun for as long as it chooses to shine. And also, that storms do pass. Cain, France, Ile-de-France, Paris, Travel,
