On summer solstice The sun comes up between two rocks. Misogi ceremony is conducted on the summer solstice to purify one's mind and body by bathing in the ocean. These two rocks are the torii gate for the other rock(god) underwater. considered to be husband(left) and wife( right) joined by the ropes.

Location: Futami Okitama Shrine Ise Japan
