Blind Burmese Head Monk

Category: Sense of Place

I stumbled upon this room off the main area of an old wooden monastery in Inle Lake, Myanmar. It turned out to be the room of a 90 year old blind Burmese head monk or abbot. The abbot's room was decorated by some younger monks with flowers and they had also posted a photo of the abbot as a young man. He had a very calming and serene presence about him.

Location: Myanmar
