Ban Kong Lo

Category: Outdoor Scenes

Photo and caption by Ryan Friese

The small village of Ban Kong Lo is located in the Phu Hin Bun National Protected Area of central Laos. The striking black limestone cliffs and karst topography contrasting with the endless sea of vibrant rice fields makes Ban Kong Lo the most beautiful place I have ever traveled. Sunset is an especially tranquil, almost transcendent time when clouds begin to gently blanket the cliffs, and farmers finish their remaining work before the sun dips below the horizon.

Location: Ban Kong Lo, Laos
