Smile

Category: Travel Portraits

Photo and caption by Mark Chen

The provinces of Northern Thailand are home to several groups of hill tribe people who are ostracised by the Thai government. Here, a carefree Lahu child plays with a Chinese yoyo called a daibolo. Thailand is called the Land of a Thousand Smiles and nothing captures this better than the joyous smile of a young child.

Location: Ban Klang Village, Mae Salong Nok, Chiang Rai Province, Thailand
