The Eyrie

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Mark Watson

I shot this photo of my companions sheltering at a rock bivouac the morning after a storm had passed through. This bivouac - Turner's Eyrie - was discovered by climbers in 2006 and provides a base for climbing among the Darran Mountains, a remote range in New Zealand's Fiordland National Park.

Location: Fiordland National Park, New Zealand
