Sitting for hours in the backseat of a twin cab bakkie, in the blistering African sun, with a rather sub par lens, I was beginning to feel a tad despondent. When staring out the small window I saw this magnificent mammal almost within arms reach (although the park doesn't recommend you do that) munching away on these juicy leaves. She looks so serene and friendly and in stead of being intimidating, because lets face it she is quite large, especially up close, she rather gives you the sense that you could just reach out your hand, rub her head and say hello, but of course it's not recommended.

Location: Kruger National Park, Limpopo, South Africa
