Alpine Chough Dancing on the Apline Winds

Recently I ventured to the Top of Europe; the Jungfraujoch railway in Switzerland. The highest railway in Europe crawled slowly to a peak in the Swiss Alps. 3,570m above sea level, these incredible & charismatic birds spent an hour playing on the wind. Showing incomparable agility in a place where I moved sluggishly and struggled to catch my breath. The Alpine Chough is the highest nesting bird in the world. It is utterly at home on the vicious high altitude updrafts. A member of the crow family, they were happy to pose for me, and continued to fly cheekily close in the spring sun.
