Galata Bridge - Lonely Night

Category: Sense of Place

Photo and caption by Erik R. Knudsen

The famous Galata Bridge spans the historic Golden Horn, an inlet of the Bosphorus, the strait that forms part of the boundary between Europe and Asia. Fishing at the Galata Bridge has become one of the famous tourist attractions in Istanbul, although at night there are only a few professional fishermen who depend on the fishing for living who come to the bridge. This was also the case on this chilly and foggy night.

Location: Istanbul, Turkey
