Shooting Sled Dogs

Category: Spontaneous Moments

Photo and caption by Amanda Monzo

Global Warming effects Sled Dogs too. The longer the summer months, the longer the dogs need to be fed, whilst they are out of work. Instead of being chained to rocks and fed for 7 months of the year they are now not working, they are shot. This particular dog, could not look down the barrel of the gun. The dogs in the foreground were howling and in terror watching their pack member about to be shot.

Location: Uummannaq, Greenland
