I was in Tanzania with a group of Yale University students to make an environmental documentary on community-based forest conservation, one of the initiatives of the Tanzania Forest Conservation Group (TFCG). On our last day, we interviewed Eustack Mtui, the projects officer for TFCG. Here, he waits to go on camera as the director of photography sets up the cameras and microphone. In this spontaneous shot, I wanted to turn the lens onto the image-making machines of the documentary itself - the cameras. This photograph is a scan of monochrome print shot on an analog camera.
