What a life...

In June of 2011 I participated in a medical mission to Cap Haitien, Haiti. While I was there we visited a town called Shada. It was one of the most devastated places I have ever journeyed to. Poverty surrounded us. I cannot begin to describe to you what I saw that day or even smelled, the stench was putrid. Children were using the river not only to defecate in but to play in as well. This picture depicts the conditions in which people actually live, the strength and pride this people have is astounding. I will never forget my time in Haiti; the people will always have a place in my heart.

Location: Shada, Cap Haitien, Haiti
