Two porters take their heavy loads towards Everest Base Camp in the weeks leading up to the 60th anniversary of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay’s first ascent of Mount Everest. The modern day sherpas are better equipped and the trail more frequently trodden but the work is still tough and dangerous.
