Valley of the Kings
Category: Outdoor Scenes
Photo and caption by Zeke du Plessis
This photo was taken from another hot air balloon soon after sunrise as we were peacefully floating over Egypt's Valley of the kings on the west bank of the Nile, opposite Luxor. It is called this because for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to the 11th century BC, the Pharoes were buried here.
Location: Near Luxor, Egypt
