JAPAN. Nara. More than a thousand tame deer roam freely in the fields and streets outside Todaiji— one of Japan's most famous temples and the largest wooden building in the world. Visitors to the area can expect to be followed by up to half a dozen of these deer if they are carrying food in their hands.

Location: Nara, Japan
