The magical moment of this beautiful urn and the aromatic vapors, against a backdrop of rich Ladakhi attire, was seen at the START of the Hemis festival. The monk held the urn and led the way, at the start of the Hemis festival - an annual one held in the Hemis monastery. Situated 45 km from Leh, the Hemis monastery was re-established in 1672. The annual Hemis festival honoring Padmasambhava is held here in early June. Hemis seemed like a combination of riot of colors, purity & sanctity, & spontaenous moments. Faith in Ladakh, Hemis, Leh

Location: Leh Ladakh Jammu and Kashmir, India
