Matting Dragonflies

Category: Spontaneous Moments

Photo and caption by Dania Shapira

It is really hot in Israel in the summer, and those who dare to hike in the heat prefer to walk along the rivers and/or inside the water. Kziv river in the Galilee has running water all year long. There is no wonder that the river and the Monfort Crusader fortress on the mountainside, surrounded by lots of greenery and colorful flowers, have become one of the most attractive trail for travelers. When we were walking in the water we were attracted by an additional “event”: dozens of dragonflies matting! I have managed to catch two of them matting (we have seen orgies too☺).

Location: Kziv river in the Galilee, Israel
