Don't look at me

Not many visitors take the pains to walk through East London - one visit and it feels as if it's a part of London that's always living on the edge. It is one of the best, if not the best place to get striking portraits juxtaposed in edgy surroundings. I was there during Christmas and this frame presented itself out of nowhere. The words written on the pane behind, the reflection of Santa, the girl's defiant look, the cigarette just waiting to be lit & the writing on her knuckles - all of these 'contradictions' make the image for me.
