Once a great empire, Cambodia has a very young population today due to the 1970s historical events. Whilst the surviving eldest generation still lives with the trauma of the Khmer rouge era, children’s joy of life and education represent great hope for the country which is already experiencing one of the best economic growths in Asia. With the recent foreign investments in the country’s numerous resources, the current decade is decisive in the way Cambodia recovers from the past and the way people’s lives are shaped.
