Category: Outdoor Scenes

Photo and caption by Kristen Monkhouse

This photo was taken from a helicopter on a tour of Sedona, AZ. Sedona itself sits at about 4500 feet above sea level with even dramatically higher rock cliffs like those seen in this photo. Scientists have reportedly found seashell fossils in the upper layers of these rock cliffs indicating at this entire area used to be covered in water.

Location: Sedona, AZ
