New York Sunset

Category: Spontaneous Moments

Photo and caption by Alessandro Belgiorno-Nettis

This sunset over Manhattan came out of nowhere whilst having dinner one evening in Brooklyn. I had my camera (1985 Nikon FE2) though only had a 50mm f/1.4 lens. I put down my pizza slice, ran down to the wharf and looked through the viewfinder but the 50mm crop didn't catch enough of the view. I quickly made the decision to go for a panorama. Each photo had a different exposure, aperture and shutter speed setting (to deal with the fast changing light) which all takes time with a film camera. I love that this photo is a little rough on the edges but cannot hinder New York's beauty.

Location: Brooklyn, New York, America
