Going to Dursey Island
Category: Outdoor Scenes

This is Irelands only cable car. It's how the dozen permanent residents get to the mainland. It's about a ten minute ride, and about eighty feet above the water. The ride is in a small wooden box not big enough to stand up in, and the wind pushes you around pretty good out in the middle of the ride. Oh, you may share the ride with sheep. That's how they get them across too.
Location: Dursey Island, Bera Peninsula, Co. Kerry, Ireland
