Purple Haze

Category: Spontaneous Moments

In this unedited snapshot out the car window, we were trying to capture the raw majesty and dynamic nature of the landscape. Plus, our 10-month old in the backseat wasn't too keen on one more actual stop to get out of the car that day. What we didn't see in our drive-by view - and what we weren't expecting - was this "purple haze" that appears to be roiling across the field. What is it? Only Yellowstone knows the mysteries that lie within this one-of-a-kind natural treasure.

Location: Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
