G'day Mate

Category: Travel Portraits

Photo and caption by Richard Ashcroft

Wild kangaroos make a daily sunset visit to my friend’s property in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia, mostly to eat his garden plants. They’ve become somewhat accustomed to people so I managed to sit quietly while this one edged closer. I can only assume he might have been looking for a food hand out and when I told him I had no food for him, he seemed to poke his tongue out at me in protest, resulting in this quirky animal portrait.

Location: Humbug Scrub, Adelaide Hills, South Australia
