Fountain at the Pantheon

Category: Sense of Place

On a very rainy nighttime stroll through Rome during a recent vacation. We reached the Pantheon during a very brief break in the showers and the way the evening light played on the ancient Pantheon and this whimsical fountain called to me. I loved the contrast of the rather pagan face against the weighty majesty of the Pantheon, a structure first devoted to the pagan gods of Rome.
