On a chilled December morning, tidewater, made misty by a slow shutter speed, swirls around columns of the San Buenaventura Pier in Ventura, Calif. Water churned back and forth like clockwork; the occasional rogue wave would slap against a sandbank, splashing my legs and tripod - all part of the fun!
