Faceless Tourist

Category: Sense of Place

Tourists are instantly recognizable: guide book sticking out of bag, eyes frenetically roving, camera glued to face. One day walking around Edinburgh, I caught a glimpse of myself through a shop window and realized that I, too, encapsulate the stereotypical image of a sightseer. I had found a beautiful composition in the window, and put myself in it: inserting myself in the scene, and bringing myself a little closer to the city I was visiting.

Location: Edinburgh, Scotland
