Snowman

This past winter I was visiting my parents in the Western North Carolina mountains. Both of my parents grew up there and had witnessed plenty of snow in the past, but this was a unique visit. On Christmas day there were about twenty people planning on attending dinner at their home. The "White Christmas" that many wish for actually happened and no one had the courage to drive to dinner. So, restless from being trapped in the house, we decided to go on a walk with the dog. Sporting his anorak jacket to keep the snow out of his eyes, my dad pauses to readjust his gloves.
Location: Black Mountain, North Carolina
