Laundry Day
Category: Travel Portraits
Photo and caption by Meryl Page
I was walking through Patan, Nepal which is south of Kathmandu... on my way to the Ashok Stupa (where holy relics are said to be kept) when I spotted these women doing laundry with water from the Bagmati River which feeds into this area. It was such a routine chore in such a out of the way place, I found the image charming. And a reminder that no matter WHERE you live, there's a "Laundry Day."
Location: Patan, Nepal
