Street Baby

Category: Travel Portraits

Photo and caption by Kay Salera

This picture was taken under a bridge in Manila. I found a little baby sitting in front of a pre-teen girl lying down on the street. I approached to the baby to take a picture of him. He looked like he hasn't bathed for a while but someone must have been taking care of him. He wore a necklace made of electric parts and cables. Just after I took this picture, a teenage boy came and hugged the baby. He just smiled at the camera hugging his sibling, or maybe his son. He was holding a cigarette on his hand. Street children appeared in the Philippines in the 80's when economy got down.

Location: Manila, the Philippines
