New Friend in Montségur
Category: Spontaneous Moments
Photo and caption by Peggy Kassees
While enjoying a delicious lunch in the restaurant Costes, in the village of Montségur, France, one of the locals, this beautiful Great Pyrenees sheep dog visited our table. My daughter-in-law, Jessica leaned over and gave the magnificent beast a hug. High above the restaurant on a rocky pog, sits the ruins of Montségur Chateau, where in 1244, hundreds of Cathars held off over ten thousand soldiers in the Albigensian Crusades.
Location: Montségur Village, Midi-Pyrenees, France
