It Pays To Know Which Ones Are Harmless

My guide was leading us through the jungle in Costa Rica on Christmas day. At one point we came upon an enormous spider web with a spider in it that looked like it was made out of razor blades and needles. He proceeded to reach into the web, which seemed strong enough to lean against, and pull the spider out of it. His handling of it was surprisingly delicate and as he let the spider walk across his mouth, then his face, then staying it from going over the top of his head, I immediately began to shoot.
Location: Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica
