Snarling Teeth, Claws out
Category: Spontaneous Moments
Photo and caption by Sanjay Sridhar
I saw a pride of lions getting ready for a hunt in Masai Mara. I waited with the pride for close to two hours when they finally stalked zebras and made a kill. You can see the wild attack. While one Lioness holds on to the back legs you can see another fierce lioness pouncing on the Zebra from behind with its mouth open, lips drawn back, teeth ready to bite and the claws drawn out. The grass flying all around adds to the action, the struggle and the ferocity of the scene. This is ‘ THE MOMENT’ in the photograph. A once in a life time photo that can never be rehearsed nor re-enacted.
Location: Masai Mara, Kenya
