Yamdrok Lake
Category: Sense of Place
Photo and caption by Evelina Kristanti
Known as one of the three holiest lake in Tibet, Yamdrok Tso which literally means turquoise lake, is located along the route of Friendship Highway, around 90 km to the east of the town of Gyantse and southwest of Lhasa. I intentionally put the man figure at bottom left to bring the whole landscape into perspective that shows the size of this massive lake.
Location: Shannan Region, Tibet Autonomous Region, People’s Republic of China
