Bald Eagle
Category: Spontaneous Moments
Photo and caption by Mark Nelson
To see a Bald Eagle is a rare opportunity. But to have it soar past you is another thing altogether. I was hiking around Mount Hood and came across an open lake. We saw this guy swoop down into the water and then recess to hide in a tree. As we walked around, he came back out to fly around, attempting to get another fish. I grabbed my camera and just started clicking. This is one of several shots I got, but one of my favorite because it captures his majestic nature as he flies.
Location: Mount Hood, OR
