This ramp to the water is next to the steps of a small bridge, one of many in Venice. Coming out of the dark alley to the bright of day was such a beautiful transition. I stopped to admire the contrast of light and warms and cools, and to my delight - a gondolier drifted by, preoccupied with a phone call.
