Colors of Autumn in Ashikaga
Category: Sense of Place
Photo and caption by Ian Quartin
I saw the colors in the trees changing while on a bus ride through the city. Since I couldn't stop at the time, I came back two days later, riding for over an hour on my bicycle from the next city over. I spent the entire holiday riding around trying to find one particular place, and found many other scenic spots along the way. This is one of my favorite, a Buddhist temple in the heart of Ashikaga city. The trees demonstrated red, orange, green, yellow and even purple flowers in the sun and the shade of the early afternoon. November 23rd, 2010.
Location: Ashikaga City, Japan
