Before Sunset
Category: Travel Portraits
Photo and caption by Thomas Diekmann
From a monastery on a hill above the town of Chamkhar in Bhutan, young Bhutanese monks look horrified and deeply moved on the remains of the town below, which was hit by a fire inferno the night before. The flames razed through town, destroying almost everything - making this fire one of the worst in Bhutan history. Even after many hours fires were still burning and smoke could still be seen from above.
Location: Chamkhar, Bhumthang Region, Bhutan
