Food for the Soul

Category: Sense of Place

This is the early morning ritual of the Buddhist monks, in the city of Luang Prabang, Laos. They appear en masse, in the streets of the city, and parade by the willing faithful, who fill their baskets with sticky rice, and other food offerings for their daily sustenance. The saffron orange robes, glowing in the soft dawn light, make for a stunning tableau, with the white, and gold, temples (wats) in the backround.

Location: Luang Prabang, Laos
