Dry Season
Category: Sense of Place
Photo and caption by Manfred Kaempa
Three boys on a boat in a village near Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia. In the dry season the boats on the main street serve as places to play; in the wet season the main road becomes a river negotiable only by those same boats. The high stilted houses give an impression of the degree to which Cambodia's largest lake, fed by the mighty Mekong and Tonle rivers, can rise each year.
