Mammoth Hot Springs
Category: Sense of Place

I visited Yellowstone in June of 2010. My Family and I walked the whole length of the hot springs without seeing much water. At the end, we were rewarded with this spectacular view. The strong smell of sulfur and the strange, barren yet beautiful landscape gave me the impression that I was on a different planet but also reminded me of the mysterious and powerful earthly forces at work underneath the magical place that is Yellowstone.
Location: Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming
