Land Cruisers & Camel Races
Category: Sense of Place
Photo and caption by Michael Hersrud
Camels and jockeys participating in an early morning practice race at the camel racetrack outside of Doha, Qatar. In the background you can see several Land Cruisers used to follow the camels around the track during the actual races. Jockey's are substituted with small robots controlled by a remote from the Land Cruisers. Truly a collision of old tradition, technology and wealth.
Location: outside of Doha, Qatar
