Himalayan Herd of Sheep
Category: Sense of Place
Photo and caption by Dylan Herman
I came across this herd of sheep in a rural northern Indian village while backpacking up Ralam Valley in the Himalayas. Seeing these sheep being herded through narrow, unstable and crumbling rocky paths along this crescent shaped slope stood out to me. With the sheep, the house and people, and the bright green grass against a blue sky, the scene gave me such a profound sense of place.
Location: Kumoan Region - Uttrakhand, India. Ralam Valley in Himalaya Mountains.
