Life of the Ganges
Category: Sense of Place
Photo and caption by Dylan Herman
At a rest stop along the most breathtaking jeep ride I've ever taken, I had the privilege of capturing a shot that perfectly describes what a source of life the holy Ganges River truly is. This is a shot of one of the 371 cities that are along the banks of the river. These are the buildings of shops in local Himalayan markets, as well as homes to the millions of Indians that are inhabitants of the river.
Location: The Ganges River, Uttarakhand, northern India.
