Seeking the highest temple, we rapidly traversed the paths of Tikal to watch the sun set over this mysterious ruinous world. Suddenly this structure erupted into view through the jungle overgrowth. The setting sun illuminated the building to a beautiful white gold. We stopped in our racing tracks and realized we were the only ones with this captivating and magical view. When the sun passed, the temple turned back to grey and slunk into the darkness.
Location: Tikal, Guatemala
