Lake Powell at Night
Category: Outdoor Scenes
Photo and caption by Adam Ullman
Away on a road trip with my wife and 16 month old son, I snuck away to enjoy my hobby. With new equipment in hand, night photography was now a possibility. The time was 10:14 p.m. and the moon was half full. Mounted on a tripod, with the shutter set to a mirror-up mode, I pressed the remote shutter release. 46 seconds later, I pressed the remote shutter release again and the image was set. The 46 seconds was short enough to prevent star trails, but long enough for the moon to light the lake and surrounding scenery (with other settings of f5.6 and ISO 800).
Location: Glen Canyon National Rec Area, Wahweap Campground, Page, AZ, USA
