A pooja journey
Category: Sense of Place

According to Hindu mythology Madurai, India, is where the wedding between Shiva and Parvati took place. The Meenakshi temple is hence dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi and Lord Sundareswarer, which to me are among the most interesting characters in Hindu mythology. It is no surprise that this temple is one of the most colorful, largest and busiest temples in India. However among the many gathered for pooja (prayer) and blessings, peace and solitude can also be found. With a touch of persistence and patience This woman silently returns from a fulfilling journey of pooja.
Location: Madurai, India
